The Shelter Association of Washtenaw County (SAWC) is a Michigan nonprofit organization with over 30 years of dedicated service to the homeless population of Washtenaw County. Housed at the Robert J. Delonis Center located in downtown Ann Arbor, the building has a kitchen that serves meals 364 days a year, a medical center, and beds for 50 individuals. Programs and services address immediate and long-term client needs through case management, community referrals, and on-site basic needs with the goal of sustainable housing. Over 1000 individuals per year are supported by the Shelter Association.

Joyful Website Design (JWD) was tasked with the redesign of SAWC’s site, meant to streamline and clarify the extensive information of the original site. With intuitive restructuring and an eye towards complimentary coloration, the site acts as a straightforward and attractive map while retaining the thorough collection of the organization's history, staff and board, program operations, volunteer instructions, documentation, and more.

With persuasive numbers and figures featured in multiple site locations, JWD also helped SAWC establish a clear and compelling narrative of the impact achieved in the community linked to a convenient and useful hub for all donations to come through.
